Glossary auto line feed A printer feature in which each carriage return code (CR) is automatically accompanied by a line feed (LF) code. control codes Special codes used to control printer functions such as performing a carriage return or line feed. default A value or setting that takes effect when the printer is turned on, reset, or initialized. download To transfer information from the computer to the printer. Fonts are downloaded to the printer when needed. dpi Dots per inch. The number of dots per inch is a measure of printer resolution.
