DSC Tab Digital Selective Calling (DSC) uses marine VHF radio and Global Positioning System (GPS) technologies to transmit and receive location information. DSC is used by mariners to assist them in two major areas: Distress Calls and Position Reporting. See page 21 and the "Appendix" for more information on DSC and using it with your GPSMAP 292/298. MAIN MENU > DSC AND CARD TAB Card Tab The Card tab contains options for saving waypoints, routes and tracks to a data card. When data is saved to a data card, it can be exchanged with other compatible units and Garmin's MapSource PC program. To transfer data to/from a data card: 1. Insert the data card. From the Card tab, select the check box next to each type of item you want to transfer. 2. Highlight Save To Card, and press ENTER to save the selected items to the data card. 3. If transferring data from the card to the unit, highlight Merge From Card, and press ENTER to combine the selected items with those of your GPSMAP 292/298. Highlight Replace From Card, and press ENTER to overwrite all selected items on your GPSMAP 292/298. 4. A Transfer Complete message appears after the data is transferred. Press QUIT.
