Receiving Messages, Message Notifications, Retrieving Your Messages

Receiving Messages When you receive a voicemail message, Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) message, text message (SMS), or Net alert, you have two ways to access the message: ⅷ Respond to the message notification that appears when the message is received. ⅷ Dismiss the message notification and access the message later through the message center. Message Notifications When you receive a message, your phone notifies you with text on the display and a notification tone or vibration. You can access the message or dismiss the notification. ᮣ To dismiss the message notification, press Later (right softkey). If you dismiss the notification, the message is not deleted. You can access it through the message center. If you are not on a phone call when you receive a message, your phone sounds a notification tone every 30 seconds until you access the message, you dismiss the notification, or the alert time-out expires. When you are on a phone call, you can receive message notifications for all types of messages except MMS messages. For other types of messages, your phone may sound a notification tone during the call or after you end the call, depending on how you set your notification options.
