Custom Settings Menu Guide-Custom Settings Custom Setting 13: Command Dial By default, the main command dial controls shutter speed (shutter-priority auto and manual exposure modes), the sub-command dial aperture (aperture-priority auto and manual exposure modes). These functions can be reversed using Custom Setting 13. The setting selected also applies to the optional MB-D100 multi-function battery pack. CSM MENU F13 Assign Command Dial OFF Main=S, Sub=A OK ON Main=A, Sub=S Option Main=S, Sub=A (default) Main=A, Sub=S Description Main command dial controls shutter speed, sub-command dial aperture. Main command dial controls aperture, sub-command dial shutter speed. Custom Setting 14: AE-L/AF-L This option controls the behavior of the AE-L/AF-L button. CSM MENU F14 Assignment of AE-L/AF-L Button AE/AF Lock OK AE Lock Only AF Lock Only AE Lock Hold AF-ON Option AE/AF Lock (default) AE Lock only AF Lock only AE Lock hold AF-ON 154 Description Both focus and exposure are locked while the AE-L/AF-L button is pressed. Exposure is locked while the AE-L/AF-L button is pressed. Focus is unaffected. Focus is locked while the AE-L/AF-L button is pressed. Exposure is unaffected. Pressing the AE-L/AF-L button locks exposure. Exposure remains locked until the button is pressed again. The camera focuses when the AE-L/AF-L button is pressed. While this setting is in effect, the camera will not focus when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway.
