In the Record mode, the remaining battery power appears on the control panel, and the lens comes out. ● To turn it off, press the Power button again. The display on the control panel disappears and the lens retracts. Note: x Do not turn on the power without removing the lens cap first. x If you do not operate the camera for three minutes, the camera will be set to the stand-by mode. After four hours in the stand-by mode, the power turns off automatically. (Time varies depending on the type of batteries used.) x To turn on again, press the Power button. x Set the date before taking pictures. (p. 182)

Press the Power button to turn it on. In the Record mode,
