THE DSP (DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSOR) The DSP function adjusts the reverb level and delay time to give a resonant surround sound during playback, allowing you to enjoy the real sound presence of different environments. This unit has been programmed with 4 different DSP modes. You can also create and store upto4 of your own surround settings. SELECTING A PROGRAM-PRESET SURROUND SOUND DSP Press the PRGM/MANUAL button of the DSP so that DISCO, LIVE, MOVIE or HALL in the display is surrounded by red, and press the DISCO, LIVE, MOVIE or HALL button of the DSP. + u To select with the remote control Press the DSP PRGM button until the desired mode is displayed. Sound characteristics of DSP modes Equalization curves are selected automatically to match the selected DSP sound. DISCO: Little reverb and medium range surround to resemble a disco. The graphic equalizer is set to ROCK. LIVE: Little reverb and narrow range surround to resemble a live stage. The graphic equalizer is set to POP. MOVIE: Little reverb and medium range surround to resemble a movie theater. The graphic equalizer is set to JAZZ. HALL: Long reverb and wide range surround to resound like a concert hall. The graphic equalizer is set to CLASSIC. q The graphic equalization curve can also be selected or turned off as you prefer. q The graphic equalizer is not turned off by turning off the DSP.
