MICROPHONE MIXING Up to two microphones can be connected to this unit, allowing you to sing along to music sources. Use a microphone with a mini (D3.5 mm/'/s inches) plug, Before connecting a microphone Set the MIC MIXING control to MIN. 1 Connect your microphone(s) to the MIC jack(s). 2 Press one of the function buttons to select the source to be mixed, and play it. 3 Adjust the volume and tone of the source. 4 Adjust the microphone volume. You can adjust the volume of the microphones connected to the both of the MIC jacks by the MIC MIXING control at the same time. To record microphone sound mixed with source sound Insert a tape in the deck 2, and press the q REC/REC MUTE button. You can record while using the echoing effect, VOCAL FADER, MULTIPLEX or BBE function. When not using the microphone Set the MIC MIXING and DIGITAL ECHO control remove the microphone(s) from the MIC jack(s). to MIN and . If the microphone is held too near the speakers, a howling sound . may be produced, In this case, hold the microphone away from the speakers, or decrease the sound level using the MIC MIXING control, q If sound through the microphone is extremely loud, it may be distorted, In this case, turn the MIC MIXING control toward MIN. When connecting two microphones simultaneously The use of unidirectional type microphones (Aiwa DM-HI 8, DMH15, etc.) is recommended to prevent howling. ECHOING THE SOUND -+ u You can get an echo sound while using the microphone. First, press the MIC ECHO button to display "E-ON". Then, adjust the echo volume with the DIGITAL ECHO control. To cancel the echoing effect Press the MIC ECHO button twice to display "E-OFF". q If the MIC ECHO is set to OFF, the echoing effect cannot be obtained, though the DIGITAL ECHO control is set to MAX. q If you select the DSP mode, the MIC ECHO will be set to OFF automatically. When the MIC ECHO is set to ON, the selected DSP mode is automatically canceled.
