GETTING READY 2. Orienting the battery with its ̆ mark pointing towards the battery compartment, push the stopper out of the way with the side of the battery as you load it into the camera. 3. Swing the battery cover closed, and then slide it in the direction indicated by the arrow. NP-40 Stopper • Push the bottom of the battery, and make sure that the stopper securely locks the battery in place. IMPORTANT! • Use only the special NP-40 rechargeable lithium ion battery to power this camera. Use of any other type of battery is not supported. The battery is not fully charged when you use the camera for the first time after purchasing it. You need to charge the battery before using the camera for the first time. 36
