For a proper mechanical fit and proper cooling of expansion cards, follow the guidelines in the following table. The expansion cards with the highest priority should be installed first using the slot priority indicated. All the other expansion cards should be installed in the card priority and slot priority order. Table 21. Removing the expansion card risers Prerequisites 1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions. 2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system. 3. Remove the air shroud. Steps 1. Open the blue expansion card riser retention-latch located on the system. 2. Holding the blue touch points, lift the expansion card riser out of the system. 3. If you are not replacing the expansion card, install a filler bracket and close the card retention latch. Installing and removing system components 55
