168 Chapter 9 Internet and Social Networking GPRS/3G Use GPRS/3G (or EDGE, if available) to connect to the Internet and to send and receive email on your phone. You will need a data plan to use your mobile operator's GPRS/3G network. Check with your mobile operator to find out about GPRS/3G rates. Your phone automatically sets up the data connection based on your SIM card when you turn on the phone for the first time. Do not change the connection settings as this may cause services to stop working. If you need to add another GPRS/3G connection on your phone, contact your mobile operator. You can also manually select the mobile operator to use for data connections. See "Using Connection Setup" in Chapter 14 for details. Dial-up To set up a dial-up connection to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) on your phone, you need the same settings that you normally use when you dial up from your computer. This includes the ISP server phone number, your user name and password. 1. On the Home screen, slide to the Settings tab and then tap Wireless controls. 2. Tap Menu > Connections and then tap Add a new modem connection. 3. In the Select a modem list, select Cellular Line, and then tap Next. 4. Enter the ISP server phone number, and then tap Next. 5. Enter your user name, password, and any other information required by your ISP, and then tap Finish.
