OPTIONS 16 ■ Connecting to the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack When connecting the optional HM-174 WATERPROOF SPEAKER-MICROPHONE, HM-175GPS GPS WATERPROOF SPEAKER-MICROPHONE or OPC-1799 DATA COMMUNICATION CABLE, OPC-1797 CONNECTION CABLE to the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack, follow the procedure below. CAUTION!: Turn power OFF the transceiver before connecting/ disconnecting cable to/from the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack. Rotate the fix screw tighten. • Connecting to the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack q Remove the rubber cap. from the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack. Rubber cap No Sound from the inside speaker when connecting OPC-1797. [DATA/SP/MIC] jack w Orient the connector's flat face and the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack's flat face in same direction, (Verifying triangular mark) then insert it tightly. e Rotate the threaded connector shell clockwise to tighten the connector. [DATA/SP/MIC] jack (Upside view) Connector (Side view) Flat face Triangular mark • Disconnecting from the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack q Rotate the threaded connector shell counter-clockwise to loosen the connector. w Disconnect the cable from the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack. e Reattach the rubber cap tightly to the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack. • Connecting to the [DATA/SP/MIC]
jack

Remove the rubber cap. from the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack.

Orient the connector’s flat face and the [DATA/SP/MIC]
jack’s flat face in same direction, (Verifying
triangular
mark) then insert it tightly.
e
Rotate the threaded connector shell clockwise to tighten
the connector.
• Disconnecting from the [DATA/SP/MIC]
jack
q
Rotate the threaded connector shell counter-clockwise to
loosen the connector.
w
Disconnect the cable from the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack.
e
Reattach the rubber cap tightly to the [DATA/SP/MIC] jack.
