Basic Functions Playing a Disc Playback 1. Press the OPEN/CLOSE ( ) button to open the disc cover. • The disc cover opens up to around a 15-degree angle automatically. And then lift the disc cover up to around a 60-degree angle to insert/remove the disc. Do not attempt to open the cover to an angle beyond this range. The cover may become damaged. 2. Place a disc gently into the tray. • You should hear and feel the disc snap firmly into place. • Place a disc into the tray with the disc's label facing up. 3. Press the OPEN/CLOSE ( ) button to close the disc cover until it clicks shut. a OPEN/CLOSE b c Disc Center Center ! CAUTION Make sure you place the disc in the center of the disk tray. If the disc is not positioned properly, it may not play. Opening the Disc Cover - In the Stop mode: Press the OPEN/CLOSE ( ) button. - In the Play mode: Press the STOP ( ) button on your player or on the remote control first and then press the OPEN/CLOSE ( ) button. 50 English Closing the Disc Cover Press the OPEN/CLOSE ( ) button to close the disc cover until it clicks shut. ✎ NOTE ▪ We recommend that you open the Disc Cover in the stop mode. ▪ When you press the OPEN/CLOSE ( ) button during playback, the disc inside the tray may continue to spin for a short period of time. This is not a malfunction. ▪ For your safety, please do not touch the disc with your finger if the disc is not fully stopped. ▪ Please do not place heavy things on the Disc Cover to prevent interruption of disc loading. Playback related buttons PLAY ( ) Starts playback. STOP ( ) Stops playback. • If you press the button once : The stop position is memorized. • If you press the button twice : The stop position is not memorized. PAUSE ( ) Pauses playback. ✎ NOTE ▪ For some discs, pressing the STOP ( ) button once may not memorize the resume position. Disc Structure The contents of disc are usually divided as below. • Blu-ray Disc, DVD-VIDEO title 1 title 2 chapter 1 chapter 2 chapter 1 chapter 2 chapter 3 • Audio CD (CD-DA) track 1 track 2 track 3 track 4 track 5 • MP3, WMA, DivX, MKV and MP4 folder (group) 1 file 1 file 2 folder (group) 2 file 1 file 2 file 3
