Using the Handle Zoom Rocker Use the functions in the [l Camera Setup] the zoom speed. [Zoom] submenus to set Move the zoom rocker toward Q to zoom out (wide-angle) and toward P to zoom in (telephoto). Zooming 65 Setting the Zoom Speed Refer to the following table for approximate zoom speeds of the entire zoom range (end to end). 1 Open the zoom [Speed Level] submenu. [l Camera Setup] [Zoom] [Speed Level] 2 Select [Fast], [Normal] or [Slow] and then press SET. 3 Open the zoom [Handle Rocker] submenu. [l Camera Setup] [Zoom] [Handle Rocker] 4 Select the desired level and then press SET. • You can select [Off] if you do not intend to use the handle zoom rocker. [l Camera Setup] [Zoom] [Speed Level] [Normal] [l Camera Setup] [Zoom] [Handle Rocker 8] Approximate zoom speeds (handle zoom rocker) [Handle Rocker] setting [1] (slowest) [16] (fastest) [Slow] 4 min. 45 sec. 4 sec. [Speed Level] setting [Normal] 3 min. 3 sec. [Fast] 1 min. 2 sec.* * When the zoom speed is too fast (approximately 2 seconds end-to-end), the camcorder will have more trouble focusing automatically while zooming. Using the Wireless Controller or Optional Remote Control The zoom speeds when using the wireless controller and when using an optional (ZR-2000 or ZR-1000 Zoom Remote Controller) or commercially available remote control connected to the REMOTE terminal are different. When using the wireless controller, you must press the record enable button and desired zoom button simultaneously to zoom.
