A local or network loopback is present on the port. Not used. The network module has passed self-test and is available to the router. Connecting 4-Port Serial Interface Network Modules to the Network The 4-port serial interface network module uses Smart Serial connectors, permitting each port to support a basic or extended set of serial control signals, depending on the cable connected to the port. Caution To comply with the Telcordia GR-1089 NEBS standard for electromagnetic compatibility and safety, connect the 4-port serial interface network module (NM-CEM-4SER) only to intrabuilding or nonexposed wiring or cabling. The intrabuilding cable must be shielded and the shield must be grounded at both ends.
