Specifies the name of a Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) peer group. The maximum length is 16 characters. Default Command Mode Command Default Level Usage Guideline This command is disabled by default. Router Configuration Mode. Address Family Configuration Mode (IPv4 Unicast, VPNv4 and VRF). Level: 8. (EI Mode Only Command) This command is useful in unmeshed networks (like Frame Relay or X.25) where BGP neighbors may not have direct access to all other neighbors on the same IP subnet. If a neighbor belongs to a peer group, you can only configure the next-hop-self attribute from the peer group. Use the show ip bgp neighbors or show ip bgp peer-group command to verify your settings.
