RADIUS Attributes for 802.1 Support Dell Force10 systems include the following RADIUS attributes in all 802.1X-triggered Access-Request messages: Table 9-1. 802.1X Supported RADIUS Attributes Attribute Name 1 User-Name 4 NAS-IP-Address 5 NAS-Port 24 State 30 Called-Station-Id 31 Calling-Station-Id 61 NAS-Port-Type 64 Tunnel-Type 65 Tunnel-Medium-Type 79 EAP-Message 80 Message-Authenticator 81 Tunnel-Private-Group-ID Description The name of the supplicant to be authenticated. The IP address of the authenticator. The physical port number by which the authenticator is connected to the supplicant. Access challenge packet information sent by the authenticating server. This must be sent unmodified in the subsequent access-request. Stores the authenticator MAC address. Relays the supplicant MAC address to the authentication server. NAS-port physical port type. 5 indicates Ethernet. Must contain the value VLAN (type 13). Must contain the value 802 (type 6). Encapsulates EAP packets A calculated value included in Access-Requests to prevent spoofing. Associate a tunneled session with a particular group of users. Configuring 802.1X Configuring 802.1X on a port is a two-step process: 1. Enable 802.1X globally. Refer to Enabling 802.1X. 2. Enable 802.1X on an interface. Refer to Enabling 802.1X.
