Defining IPv6 Interfaces Using CLI Commands The following table summarizes the equivalent CLI commands for setting fields displayed in the IPv6 Interface page. Table 6-19. IPv6 Interface CLI Commands CLI Command Description ipv6 enable [no-autoconfig] Enables IPv6 processing on an interface. ipv6 address autoconfig Enables automatic configuration of IPv6 addresses using stateless autoconfiguration on an interface. ipv6 icmp error-interval milliseconds [bucketsize] Configures the rate limit interval and bucket size parameters for IPv6 Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) error messages. show ipv6 icmp error-interval Displays the ipv6 icmp error interval. ipv6 address ipv6-address/prefix-length [eui-64] [anycast] Configures an IPv6 address for an interface. ipv6 address ipv6-address link-local Configures an IPv6 link-local address for an interface. ipv6 unreachables Enables the generation of Internet Control Message Protocol for IPv6 (ICMPv6) unreachable messages for any packets arriving on a specified interface. show ipv6 interface [ethernet interfacenumber | vlan vlan-id | port-channel number] Displays the usability status of interfaces configured for IPv6. ipv6 nd dad attempts attempts-number Configures the number of consecutive neighbor solicitation messages that are sent on an interface while duplicate address detection is performed on the unicast IPv6 addresses of the interface. ipv6 host name ipv6-address1 [ipv6address2...ipv6-address4] Defines a static host name-to-address mapping in the host name cache. ipv6 set mtu {ethernet interface | portchannel port-channel-number} { bytes | default} Sets the maximum transmission unit (MTU) size of IPv6 packets sent on an interface. ping {ipv4-address | hostname} [size packet_size] [count packet_count] [timeout time_out] Sends IPv4 ICMP echo request packets to another node on the network. ping ipv6 {ipv6-address | hostname} [size Sends IPv6 ICMP echo request packets to another node on the packet_size] [count packet_count] network.
