Using Auto Step To have the calibrator make a sequence of steps automatically, either once through the sequence or repetitively, proceed as follows: 1. Refer to the appropriate "Using Source Mode" subheading earlier in this manual (e.g., "Sourcing Electrical Parameters") and connect the calibrator to the circuit to be tested. 2. If necessary, press M for SOURCE mode. 3. Set the calibrator for the desired source value. 4. If you want to step the source value in % of scale, set the % of scale value as described previously under "Sourcing in Percent of Scale." 5. Press the Step softkey. 6. Press the Auto Step softkey. Select values for the following parameters as you are prompted by the display: • Starting point (in units or % of scale) • Ending point • Number of steps • Time per step • Single shot or continuous repetition • Ramp pattern if continuous • Start delay 8. To start automatic stepping, press the Start Step softkey. The softkey label changes to Stop Step. 9. To stop automatic stepping, press the Stop Step softkey. 10. Press the Done softkey to resume normal operation. 61
