D-STAR OPERATION (ADVANCED) BK mode communication The Break-in (BK) function enables you to break into a conversation, where the 2 stations are communicating with the call sign squelch (DSQL) enabled. LThe BK function is automatically turned OFF when you turn OFF the transceiver. LThis function can be used in the DV or DD mode. 1. While 2 stations are communicating in the DV mode, touch TONE RX→CS for 1 second. ••After releasing TONE RX→CS , the calling station's call sign or the repeater's call sign is set to "TO" (Destination). ••Beeps sound and the calling station's call sign is announced. LWhen a call sign is not received correctly, error beeps sound, and no call sign is set. 2. Open the BK screen. MENU » SET > DV/DD SET > BK 3. Touch "ON." 4. Push EXIT several times. ••Returns to the standby screen, and "BK" is displayed. 5. W hen both stations are in standby, Push TRANSMIT , or hold down the microphone's [PTT] to transmit. L"BK" blinks when receiving a Break-in call. LTo cancel the BK mode, select "OFF" in step 3, or turn OFF the transceiver. How to use Break-in? While using the Digital Call Sign squelch (DSQL), the squelch never opens (no audio is heard) even if a call is received, unless the call is addressed to your own call sign. However, when a call including the "BK ON" signal (break-in call) is received, the squelch opens and audio is heard even if the call is addressed to another station. Station C calling to Station A with "BK OFF" Station C calling to Station A with "BK ON" Station A and B are communicating using the Station A Digital Call Sign squelch. Station C Station B Station A and B are communicating using the Digital Call Station A Sign squelch. Station C Station B Station B does not hear that Station C is calling Station A. 10-17 Station B also hears that Station C is calling Station A.

The Break-in (BK) function enables you to break into a

with the call sign squelch (DSQL) enabled.

The BK function is automatically turned OFF when
you turn OFF the transceiver.

This function can be used in the DV or DD mode.
1.
While 2 stations are communicating in the DV
mode, touch
TONE
RX
CS
for 1 second.
• After releasing
TONE
RX
CS
, the calling station’s
call sign or the repeater’s call sign is set to “TO”
(Destination).
• Beeps sound and the calling station’s call sign is
announced.

When a call sign is not received correctly, error beeps
sound, and no call sign is set.
2. Open the BK screen.

3. Touch “ON.”
4. Push

several times.
• Returns to the standby screen, and “BK” is displayed.

How to use Break-in?
