10. D-STAR OPERATION (ADVANCED) EMR communication The Enhanced Monitor Request (EMR) communication function can be used in only the DV mode. Using the EMR function, no call sign setting is necessary. LL Informatio ••All transceivers that receive an EMR signal automatically open their squelch to receive the signal. DO NOT use this function except in the case of emergency. ••When an EMR signal is received, the audio (voice) is heard at the set level, even if the volume setting level is set to the minimum level. ••The EMR communication function is automatically turned OFF when you turn OFF the transceiver. Example: Transmitting from the "Hirano" repeater using the EMR function. 1. Open the EMR screen. MENU » SET > DV/DD SET > EMR 2. Touch "ON." DDAdjusting the EMR AF level The audio output level, when an EMR signal is received, is adjustable between 0 and 100%. When an EMR signal is received, the audio is heard at the preset level, or the AF RF/SQL control level, whichever is higher. To turn OFF the setting, set to "0." 1. Open the EMR AF Level screen. MENU » SET > DV/DD SET > EMR AF Level 2. Touch [+] or [-] to adjust the EMR audio output level between 0% (OFF) and 100% (maximum). (Default: 50%) 3. To close the EMR AF Level screen, push EXIT . 3. Push MENU . ••Returns to the standby screen, and "EMR" is displayed. 4. Push TRANSMIT , or hold down the microphone's [PTT] to transmit. L"EMR" blinks on a station that receives the EMR signal.
