5. SCANS Programmed scan Programmed scan and Fine Programmed scan Scan edge 1A ~ 3A Scan edge 1B ~ 3B Scan Jump Repeatedly scans between two Scan Edge frequencies (1A/1B ~ 3A/3B channels). LTo change the Scan Edge Memory channels, see "Entering memory channel contents" (p. 4-2) for details. LIf the same frequencies are entered into the Scan Edge Memory channels, the Programmed scan does not start. LThe Fine Programmed scan is most effective in the SSB, CW, and RTTY modes. DDProgrammed scan operation 1. Select the VFO mode. 2. Select the operating mode and tuning step. (Example: USB, 1 kHz) 3. Display the SCAN screen. MENU » SCAN 4. Touch [PROG] for 1 second. 5. Touch the frequency range to scan (example: P1) Blinks Blinks •• The Programmed scan starts. LWhen a signal is detected, the scan pauses according to the "SCAN Resume" setting, and then resumes. LYou can change the tuning step by touching kHz. LTo cancel the scan, touch [PROG]. 6. Touch [FINE] to switch to the Fine Programmed scan. Blinks •• The tuning step changes to the 50 Hz step. LLWhen a signal is detected, the tuning step changes to the 10 Hz step. LLTouch [FINE] again to return to the Programmed scan. 7. To close the SCAN screen, push EXIT . 5-4
