Cleaning the Outside of the Printer Wipe the outside of the printer with a soft cloth moistened with a neutral, household detergent. Do not use abrasives or corrosive detergents. Relocating the Printer Follow these procedures when relocating your printer within the general area. If the printer is to be relocated some distance away, repack the printer in its original shipping box. 1. Switch OFF the printer power. 2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. 3. Remove the power cord from the back of the printer. 4. Disconnect the interface cable from the parallel printer cable connector on the back of the printer. 7. Face the front of the printer and lift carefully as shown. If the 500-Sheet cassette is installed, lift the printer from it and move separately. 103

Chapter 8: Maintaining Your Printer
Cleaning the Outside of the Printer
Wipe the outside of the printer with a soft cloth
moistened with a neutral, household detergent.
Do not use abrasives or corrosive detergents.
Relocating the Printer
Follow these procedures when relocating your
printer within the general area. If the printer is to
be relocated some distance away, repack the
printer in its original shipping box.
1.
Switch OFF the printer power.
2.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
3.
Remove the power cord from the back of the
printer.
4.
Disconnect the interface cable from the
parallel printer cable connector on the back of
the printer.
5.
Remove any paper from the Multi-purpose
tray.
6.
Uncover and remove the Multi-purpose tray.
7.
Face the front of the printer and lift carefully
as shown. If the 500-Sheet cassette is installed,
lift the printer from it and move separately.
