Setting the machine Manual configuration To configure the machine manually, you should obtain the usual information used to set a peripheral device (IP address, sub-network mask, network and gateway address). To configure the local network setting manually: M 2531 OK - SETUP / NETWORKS / LOCAL NETWORK / CONFIGURATION ¾ Choose MANUAL, and press OK to confirm. IP address M 2532 OK - SETUP / NETWORKS / LOCAL NETWORK / IP ADDRESS ¾ Enter the IP address of the machine and press OK to confirm. Sub-network mask M 2533 OK - SETUP / NETWORKS / LOCAL NETWORK / SUBNET MASK ¾ Enter the sub-network mask of the machine and press OK to confirm. Gateway address M 2534 OK - SETUP / NETWORKS / LOCAL NETWORK / GATEWAY ¾ Enter the IP address of the network gateway and press OK to confirm. IEEE address (or Ethernet address) or MAC address M 2535 OK - SETUP / NETWORKS / LOCAL NETWORK / IEEE ADDRESS The Ethernet card of the machine already has a read-only IEEE address. Netbios names These names, which can be used with the network options, are used to identify the machine from a PC connected to a local network (for instance with the name "IMP-NETWORK-1"). M 2536 OK - SETUP / NETWORKS / LOCAL NETWORK / NETBIOS 1 NAME M 2537 OK - SETUP / NETWORKS / LOCAL NETWORK / NETBIOS 2 NAME ¾ Enter the selected name (15 characters max) and press OK to confirm. The WINS1 and WINS2 servers, used with the network options, allow access to machines on other sub-networks by means of their NetBIOS name. 4-12
