Checking Array Status Checking Array Status Array status can be viewed using a web browser. Event notification occurs when the ATA RAID controller requires attention, such as when a disk array becomes degraded and is no longer fault tolerant. Event notification will only occur while 3DM is running. Therefore, 3ware recommends that 3DM be left running as background utility on the ATA RAID controller's machine. Event notification's e-mail feature can send an e-mail to a specified recipient when there is a problem with the array. Note: The format and style of the 3DM browser windows illustrated in this chapter are examples only. The actual "look" of the windows will depend on the browser, 3DM version and operating system in use. View status using your standard browser Open the 3DM browser window (see Figure 49) by starting your standard web browser and entering the URL of the system where 3DM is running in the address bar of your browser. The default URL is http://localhost:1080/ or http://127.0.0.1:1080/. www.3ware.com 151

Checking Array Status
Array status can be viewed using a web browser. Event notification
occurs when the ATA RAID controller requires attention, such as
when a disk array becomes degraded and is no longer fault tolerant.
Event notification will only occur while 3DM is running. There-
fore, 3ware recommends that 3DM be left running as background
utility on the ATA RAID controller’s machine. Event notification’s
e-mail feature can send an e-mail to a specified recipient when there
is a problem with the array.
Note:
The format and style of the 3DM browser win-
dows illustrated in this chapter are examples only. The
actual “look” of the windows will depend on the
browser, 3DM version and operating system in use.
View status using your standard browser
Open the 3DM browser window (see Figure 49) by starting your
standard web browser and entering the URL of the system where
3DM is running in the address bar of your browser. The default
URL is http://localhost:1080/ or http://127.0.0.1:1080/.
