To operate properly the ATA RAID controller requires that drives be set as Single (if available on your drive) or Master. Q5: I am using a Dell Dimension system that locks-up when booting after a 3ware card is installed. What is going on? This symptom is caused by a Dell BIOS bug. Software installation Q7: The ATA RAID controller was configured without problems, but the system does not boot. The problem could be one or more of the following: • The operating system is installed on a device that is not in your system's boot order. Use your system's Setup utility to include the StorSwitch controller in the boot order. • If your operating system was installed before you configured your disk arrays, you may have overwritten your operating system. Remember that creating or deleting a disk array overwrites any existing data on the member drives. Reinstall your operating system. • If you installed your operating system when you installed the ATA RAID controller, you may have made a mistake in installing the operating system.
