Error Messages Error Message COOLING DOWN WAIT FOR A WHILE COVER OPEN PLS CLOSE COVER DISCONNECTED CHECK ORIGINAL MACHINE ERROR XX OUT OF MEMORY (May occur when the MFC is used as a printer) NO RESPONSE/ BUSY NOT REGISTERED PLS OPEN COVER PAPER JAM Cause Action The temperature of the drum unit or toner cartridge is too hot. The MFC will pause its current print job and go into cooling down mode. During the cooling down mode, you will hear the cooling fan running while the display on the MFC shows COOLING DOWN, and WAIT FOR A WHILE. You must wait 20 minutes for it to cool. The number you dialed does not answer or is busy. You tried to access a One Touch or Speed Dial number that is not programmed. A page, piece of paper or paper clip, etc. may be jammed inside the MFC. The paper is jammed in the MFC. Verify the number and try again. Set up the One Touch or Speed Dial number. (See pages 7-1, 7-2.) Open the front cover. If you see any jammed paper or other item, gently pull it out, then close the front cover. If the error message remains, open and close the front cover again. If the MFC cannot reset itself and return to the date and time prompt, it will display MACHINE ERROR XX.
