Chapter 1 Scanner Overview fi-6770/fi-6770A/fi-6750S (Flatbed Type) ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) Feeds documents to the scanning position automatically. Documents are fed sheet by sheet when loaded for batch scanning. The fi-6770/fi-6770A can scan both sides of documents at one time. Stacker Extension Pull out the extension according to the document length. Stopper Raise it if the documents loaded are long. Stacker Scanned documents are ejected from the ADF onto this stacker. You can adjust the height of the stacker at lower or upper position. Is removable. Flatbed Place them on the glass sheet by sheet for manual scanning. Allows for scanning thick documents such as books. Transport Lock Locks the carrier unit inside the Flatbed during transportation. Use a coin or similar to unlock it. Turn the slot to a vertical position to release the lock; to a horizontal position to lock it. Side Guide Button Adjusts the position of the Side Guide when kept pressed. Locks the Side Guide at the position when this button is released. ADF Open Button Opens the ADF. Push the buttons in to open the ADF. ADF Paper Chute Holds in place the document pages/sheets that are to be fed into the ADF. Load them with their face down. Paper Chute Extension Extended when scanning long documents. Chute Roller Cover A cover to prevent your finger(s) from being caught by the Chute Roller. Operator Panel Used to operate the scanner and monitor the status. Comprises a Function Number Display, operating push buttons, and LEDs. Side Guide Prevents documents from being skewed during feeding. Adjust the guide to the width of the documents loaded. ADF Paper Chute
Holds in place the document
pages/sheets that are to be fed into
the ADF. Load them with their face
down.
