Turning the Scanner ON/OFF, Turning off your PC or closing the paper chute cover

■ Turning the Scanner ON/OFF ScanSnap is automatically turned on/off by performing the following actions: • Turning on/off the PC, • Opening/closing the paper chute cover of the scanner. In general, you do not need to turn on/off the scanner when it is connected to your PC. Turning off your PC or closing the paper chute cover.... The lamp on the scanner goes off and the scanner is turned off. Turning on your PC or opening the paper chute cover.... The lamp on the scanner lights up and the scanner is turned on. To turn off the scanner when the paper chute cover is opened, push the [POWER] button on the scanner. When you turn off/on the scanner, press the [POWER] button for longer than HINT one second. *For preventing mis-operation, the [POWER] button does not work unless it is pressed for longer than one second. ATTENTION • Depending on your PC, the ScanSnap scanner is initialized several times while starting up the PC. • It may take two to three minutes for tuning off the lamp on the scanner depending on your PC. * This is due to the specification of the computer, not to malfunction of the scan- ner. 28

Turning the Scanner ON/OFF
ScanSnap is automatically turned on/off by performing the following actions:
Turning on/off the PC,
Opening/closing the paper chute cover of the scanner.
In general, you do not need to turn on/off the scanner when it is connected to your PC.
Turning off your PC or closing the paper chute cover

The lamp on the scanner goes off and the scanner is turned off.
Turning on your PC or opening the paper chute cover
....
The lamp on the scanner lights up and the scanner is turned on.
To turn off the scanner when the paper chute cover is opened, push the [POWER] button on the
scanner.
HINT
When you turn off/on the scanner, press the [POWER] button for longer than
one second.
*For preventing mis-operation, the [POWER] button does not work unless it is pressed
for longer than one second.
ATTENTION
Depending on your PC, the ScanSnap scanner is initialized several times
