By default, manager_config interactively asks the user for an IP address range to assign to the Compute Nodes. It is also to possible to pass a file containing names and IP addresses to manager_config. The EasyInstall utilities can also be used to add or remove Compute Nodes from a cluster. manager_config and compute_config can be run with -a and -r options to add or remove individual nodes respectively. In the event that installed software becomes corrupt or otherwise unusable, manager_config can be run with a -F option that will only reinstall software.
