Chapter 1 Printer Basics 35 Optional Hard Disk The Hard Disk accessory can be used to permanently store downloaded fonts and forms in the printer. Unlike standard printer memory, items on the Hard Disk remain in the printer even when the printer is turned off. Fonts downloaded to the Hard Disk are available to all users of the printer. The Hard Disk can be write-protected through software for additional security. Windows Users Use HP JetAdmin to delete files from a mass storage device. Use HP FontSmart to manage fonts on a mass storage device (page 67). For more information, see the printer software help. HP is constantly introducing new software tools for use with your printer and accessories. These tools are available from the Internet free of charge. See page 3 for how to visit the HP website for more information. Macintosh Users Use the HP LaserJet Utility to download fonts.
