126 Device management Keep the lock code secret and in a safe place separate from your device. If you forget the lock code and your device is locked, your device will require service. Additional charges may apply, and all the personal data in your device may be deleted. For more information, contact a Nokia Care point or your device dealer. 3 Select Phone autolock period, and define the length of time after which the device is locked automatically. Lock your device manually In the home screen, press the power key , select Lock phone, and enter the lock code. Unlock your device Slide the key lock switch, enter the lock code, and select OK. If the key lock switch is out of reach, press the menu key, and select Unlock. Encrypt your data Want to protect your data against unauthorized use? You can encrypt data on your device using an encryption key. Select Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone management > Security settings > Encryption. It may take several minutes to encrypt or decrypt your data. During the encryption process, do not: • Use your device unless you have to • Switch your device off If you haven't set your device to lock itself automatically when not in use, you are prompted to do so when you encrypt your data for the first time. Encrypt the device memory Select Encryption off. Encrypt the mass memory Select Encryption off. Decrypt the device memory Select Encryption on. Decrypt the mass memory Select Encryption on.
