Select the name to dial the associated number (see Dialing by contact name for more information). Dialing with a speed dial BEFORE YOU BEGIN Create some speed dials (see Assigning a speed dial to a phone number). BEFORE YOU BEGIN Create some contacts (see Adding a contact,) or import them by synchronizing (see Synchronizing information). 1 Press End to open your Today screen. 2 Using the keyboard, begin entering any combination of letters from the contact's first and/or last name. If you use both first- and last-name letters, separate them by a space. You can type letters from the last name first. 1 Press End to open your Today screen. 2 Press and hold the key or keys that you assigned as a speed dial to the contact number you want to call. If you have assigned a two-digit speed dial to this number, press the first key and then press and hold the second key. Dialing by contact name You can look up contacts quickly by entering just a few letters of a contact's name directly from your Today screen.
