4 YOUR PHONE CHAPTER sounds remain off until you slide the Ringer switch back to Sound On . • Press the Volume Down button. Each press on the Volume button brings the ringer volume down one level. If you need to press the Volume button more than twice to get to the bottom (or mute) level, this method will not mute your smartphone. Instead, it will stop one level above mute. When you silence the ringer, you can either answer the call or let it ring through to voicemail. Using voicemail Setting up voicemail 1 Press End . 2 Press and hold 1 on the keyboard to dial your wireless service provider's voicemail system. 3 Follow the voice prompts to set up your voicemail. Listening to voicemail from the Today screen When you have unretrieved voicemail messages, a voicemail icon appears at the top of your screen and Center on the 5-way flashes. 1 Press End . 2 Press and hold 1 . 3 Enter your voicemail password. 4 Follow the voice prompts to listen to your messages. 54 U S I N G V O I C E M A I L
