PART 7 USING MS-DOS 7.6.3 Drive Designation In addition to the file name and the file name extension, the name of your file may include a drive designation. The drive designation is a letter and a colon, such as A: or B:. This tells MS-DOS where the file is. The file name and extension immediately follow the drive designation. For example, A: BUDGET B: PROG1.BAS If you use a file name without the drive designation, as in BUDGET MS-DOS assumes that the file is located in the current (or default) disk drive. 7-22
