PART 7 USING MS-DOS 7.7.6 COPY : Copying Files By using the COPY command, you can make a back-up copy of one file instead of the whole disk. You can copy a file to the same disk or to another disk. 7.7.6.1 Copying Files to Same Disk (1) Make sure that prompt A> is displayed. The COPY command is an internal command and you need not have the MS-DOS system disk in the drive. (2) Insert a disk containing the file to be copied into drive -A. (3) Lets assume that DEMO is the name of the file you want to copy, and that the copy is to have the file name DEM01 Type Copy demo demol and then press the Enter key. Note that you type the original file name first and the back-up file name second. Separate these file names with a space. 7-40

Copying
Files
By
using
the
COPY
command,
you
can
make
a
back-up
copy
of
one
file

the

(1)
Make
sure
