PART 7 USING MS-DOS 7.7.3 DIR : Listing File Names You can look at a directory on any disk by issuing the DIR command to MS-DOS. This command tells MS-DOS to display all the file names in the directory. (1) Make sure that your MS-DOS system disk is in drive -A and prompt A> is displayed. (2) If your system has a printer, set the printer ready to print. On the keyboard, hold the Ctrl key down and press the PrtSc key. (3) Type dir and press the Enter key. C>dir (4) MS-DOS displays and prints a directory listing of all the files in the directory of your MS-DOS system disk. The listing looks like this. (See the following page). 7-29

You
can
look
at
a
directory
on
any
disk
by

DIR
command
to
MS-DOS.
This
command
tells
MS-DOS
to
display
all
the
file
names
in
the
directory.
(1)
Make
sure
that
your
MS-DOS
system
disk
is
in
drive
-A
and
prompt

is
displayed.

If

system
