PART 7 USING MS-DOS 7.11 Using Hard Disk The T•3200 can be equipped with a hard disk drive built in the left hand side of the system unit. Information can be stored on a hard disk in the same way as a floppy disk. However, the construction of the hard disk unit allows a greater storage capacity of information than a floppy disk. You are able to allocate separate areas of the disk to different operating systems. You can have as many as four operating systems on the hard disk. The area allocated to an operating system is called a partition. Each partition is set up using a hard disk setup program provided by the corresponding operating system. MS-DOS has the FDISK program for this purpose. If you plan to use MS-DOS only, you assign the entire disk space to the MS-DOS partition using the FDISK program. 7-52
