PART 7 USING MS-DOS (6) Make sure that prompt A> is displayed. Then type FORMAT C:/S and press the Enter key. The /S option copies the MS-DOS system files and enables the hard disk to self -boot the system. (7) Then the following message appears. Enter current Volume Label for drive C:_ (8) Enter Volume Label then press Enter key. Or if you don't need Volume Label press only Enter key and a warning message as follows appears. ElWARNING, ALL DATA ON NON=REMOVABLE DISK DRIVE C: WILL BE LOST! Proceed with Format (Y/N)?_ Press any key. A "Disk in Use" LED for the hard disk drive lights and the formatting status appears on the screen. 7-56
