Chapter 12 Layer-2 Isolation Screen communicating with the NWA's wireless clients except for broadcast packets. Layer-2 isolation does not check the traffic between wireless clients that are associated with the same AP. Intra-BSS Traffic allows wireless clients associated with the same AP to communicate with each other. 12.1.1 What You Can Do in the Layer-2 Isolation Screen Use the Wireless > Layer-2 Isolation screen (see Section 12.2 on page 179) to configure the MAC addresses of the wireless client, AP, computer or router to which you want to allow the associated wireless clients to have access. 12.1.2 What You Need To Know About Layer-2 Isolation Every Ethernet device has a unique MAC (Media Access Control) address. The MAC address is assigned at the factory and consists of six pairs of hexadecimal characters, for example, 00:A0:C5:00:00:02. You need to know the MAC address of each device to configure MAC filtering on the NWA. If layer-2 isolation is enabled, you need to know the MAC address of each wireless client, AP, computer or router that you want to allow to communicate with the NWA's wireless clients. 178 NWA-3160 Series User's Guide
