CHAPTER 20 VLAN 20.1 Overview This chapter discusses how to configure VLAN on the NWA. A VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) allows a physical network to be partitioned into multiple logical networks. Stations on a logical network can belong to one or more groups. Only stations within the same group can talk to each other. Figure 138 VLAN Example NWA Server In the figure above, the NWA allows station A to connect to the internet but not to the server. It allows station B to connect to the server but not to the Internet. 20.1.1 What You Can Do in the VLAN Screen • Use the Wireless VLAN screen (Section 20.2 on page 251) to enable and configure your Wireless Virtual LAN setup. The NWA tags all packets from an SSID with the VLAN ID you set in this screen. • Use the Radius VLAN screen (Section 20.2.1 on page 252) to configure your RADIUS Virtual LAN setup. Your RADIUS server assigns VLAN IDs to a user or user group's traffic based on what you set in this screen. NWA-3160 Series User's Guide 249
