Chapter 25 Product Specifications Table 88 Firmware Specifications Auto Configuration Administrators can use text configuration files to configure the wireless LAN settings for multiple APs. The AP can automatically get a configuration file from a TFTP server at start up or after renewing DHCP client information. SNMP SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a protocol used for exchanging management information between network devices. SNMP is a member of the TCP/IP protocol suite. Your NWA supports SNMP agent functionality, which allows a manger station to manage and monitor the NWA through the network. The NWA supports SNMP version one (SNMPv1) and version two c (SNMPv2c). DFS DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) allows a wider choice of 802.11a wireless channels. CAPWAP The NWA can manage and be managed via CAPWAP (Control And Provisioning of Wireless Access Points), which allows multiple APs to be configured and managed by a single AP controller. 25.1 Wall-Mounting Instructions Complete the following steps to hang your NWA on a wall. Note: See Table 25 on page 297 for the size of screws to use and how far apart to place them. 1 Select a position free of obstructions on a sturdy wall. 2 Drill two holes for the screws. Be careful to avoid damaging pipes or cables located inside the wall when drilling holes for the screws. 3 Do not insert the screws all the way into the wall. Leave a small gap of about 0.5 cm between the heads of the screws and the wall. 4 Make sure the screws are snugly fastened to the wall. They need to hold the weight of the NWA with the connection cables. 300 NWA-3160 Series User's Guide
