LANs, WANs and the ZyXEL Device The actual physical connection determines whether the ZyXEL Device ports are LAN or WAN ports. There are two separate IP networks, one inside the LAN network and the other outside the WAN network as shown next. You can configure the ZyXEL Device as a DHCP server or disable it. When configured as a server, the ZyXEL Device provides the TCP/IP configuration for the clients. Active IP Alias
Select the check box to configure another LAN network for the ZyXEL
Device.
IP Address
Enter the IP address of your ZyXEL Device in dotted decimal notation.
IP Subnet
Mask
Type the subnet mask of your network in dotted decimal notation, for
example 255.255.255.0 (factory default).
Apply
Click
Apply
to save your changes back to the ZyXEL Device.
