Adjusting the Exposure Manually Ⅵ Canceling AE Lock Press the ADJ./VOL. knob for 1 second or longer. ● The mark disappears. ADJ./VOL ADJ./VOL ADJ./VOL Applicable to: Full Auto shooting mode A, Manual shooting mode M Generally, the brightness of the subject that is being shot is automatically adjusted according to the reference values of the camera. However, the brighter or darker areas of an image may appear unclear depending on the shooting conditions. To prevent this from occurring, you can correct the exposure manually. 1 . Set to the Manual Exposure mode. Press AE±. ● The AE value appears on the screen, and the adjustment mode is enabled. (Control using the EV value when in the still picture mode.) AE AE Value ±0 2 . Adjust the exposure. Turn the ADJ./VOL. knob. Turn upward to increase the value and make the image brighter. Turn downward to decrease the value and make the image darker. 3 . Confirm the setting value. Press the ADJ./VOL. knob. ● The manual setting value is set. (The setting value (-6 to +6) is displayed on the screen.) 4 . After setting the value, press the ADJ./VOL. knob for 1 second or longer to switch to the AE Lock mode. (An L mark appears after the setting value on the screen.) AE Lock: Locks the exposure setting value. -6 AE Lock Ⅵ Disabling the Manual Exposure mode ● Press AE±. AE AE± IRIS OPEN SHUTTER AE ʶ CLOSE ADJ./VOL. Knob ADJ./ VOL. PUSH ACCESS REC DC Memo : ● AE Lock is canceled if the shutter speed or aperture is set to the manual mode. ● When in the still picture mode, exposure cannot be adjusted manually if shutter speed and aperture are set to the manual mode. (The AE display flashes for about 5 seconds on the screen and its setting becomes invalid.) Using the Tele Macro Feature Applicable to: Full Auto shooting mode A, Manual shooting mode M Shortens the closeup distance at the tele (T) end of the zoom. (1 m B approx. 80 cm) There are two ways to set this feature. Ⅵ Set [TELE MACRO] in the [CAMERA PROCESS] menu to [ON]. (Possible only in Manual mode M) (A Page 61) Ⅵ Set [USER1], [USER2], or [USER3] in the [CAMERA SETTINGS] menu to [TELE MACRO], then press the corresponding USER button. (Possible in Full Auto mode A and Manual mode M) Assignment of USER buttons:(A Page 21, 65) ● When the tele macro feature is turned on, a tele macro icon appears on the screen.
