To format an SD memory card ‹Note SD memory cards may be formatted via the thumbnail screen. > [Formatting SD memory cards] (page 131). 1 Navigate the menu to the screen. 2 Turn the JOG dial button to move the cursor to the menu option CARD CONFIG. 3 Press the JOG dial button. The following message is displayed. CONFIG? YES # NO z To format the SD memory card, turn the JOG dial button to move the cursor to YES. Then, press the dial button. z When the SD memory card has been formatted, the following message appears: CONFIG OK The card will not be formatted if the following message appears when the JOG dial button is pressed: Error message Remedy CONFIG NG NO CARD (No SD memory card inserted.) CONFIG NG ERROR (SD memory card cannot be formatted.) CONFIG NG WRITE PROTECT (SD memory card is writeprotected.) CONFIG NG CANNOT ACCCESS (SD memory card not accessible). Insert an SD memory card. The card may be defective. Replace the card. Remove the card and cancel the protect. Example: The SD memory card is not accessible because it is being played back. After the operation in process, format the card. 4 To exit the menu, press the MENU button. The settings menu disappears and the status of the unit is indicated at the top and bottom of the viewfinder screen. ‹Notes z Data erased by formatting cannot be restored, so be sure to perform the format after first confirming the data. z If an SD memory card is inserted or removed with the screen open, the data title cannot be edited. Move the cursor to the option TITLE READ and press the JOG dial button. Edit the data title. To write set data on an SD memory card Select the type of the menu to write to the screen in advance, and then perform the writing to the SD memory card via the following procedure. 1 Navigate the menu to the screen. Note

SD memory cards may be formatted via the thumbnail screen.

Navigate the menu to the <SD CARD READ/

WRITE> screen.

Turn the JOG dial button to move the cursor to

the menu option CARD CONFIG.

Press the JOG dial button.

The following message is displayed.

To format the SD memory card, turn the JOG dial

button to move the cursor to YES. Then, press the

dial button.

When the SD memory card has been formatted, the

following message appears:

The card will not be formatted if the following message

appears when the JOG dial button is pressed:

To exit the menu, press the MENU button.

The settings menu disappears and the status of the unit

Notes

Data erased by formatting cannot be restored, so be

sure to perform the format after first confirming the

data.

If an SD memory card is inserted or removed with the

<SD CARD READ/WRITE> screen open, the data title

cannot be edited.

the JOG dial button. Edit the data title.

Select the type of the menu to write to the <SD CARD R/W

SELECT> screen in advance, and then perform the writing

to the SD memory card via the following procedure.

Navigate the menu to the <SD CARD READ/

WRITE> screen.

Turn the JOG dial button to move the cursor to

the option W. SELECT. Then, press the dial

button.

Turn the JOG dial button to select a desired

number (1 - 8). Then, press the dial button.

Turn the JOG dial button to move the cursor to

the option TITLE:.

To format an SD memory card
