[IEEE 802.11b] is displayed when this machine is installed with the wireless LAN interface board (optional). Implement respective settings simultaneously. 2 ❖ Communication Mode Be sure to make all settings simultaneously. • 802.11 adhoc • adhoc • Infrastructure Mode ❖ SSID Setting Specifies SSID to distinguish the access point in infrastructure mode or 802.11 adhoc mode. The characters that can be used are ASCII 0x20-0x7e (32 bytes). If blank is specified in 802.11b adhoc mode or adhoc mode, "ASSID" appears. ❖ Channel Specifies a channel when you select 802.11b adhoc mode or adhoc mode. The channel is set to "11" by default. The following channels are available: • Metric version: 1-14 • Inch version: 1-11 ❖ Security Method Specifies the encryption of the IEEE 802.11b (wireless LAN). If set to [WEP], always enter WEP key. If set to [WPA], set encryption method and authentication method. You can specify "WPA", if you set [Communication Mode] to [Infrastructure Mode]. • Off • WEP • WEP (Encryption) key Enter the WEP (Encryption) key. If it is a 64-bit WEP (Encryption) key, enter 10 hexadecimal digits or 5 ASCII code characters. For a 128-bit WEP (Encryption) key, enter 26 hexadecimal digits or 13 ASCII code characters. • WPA • WPA Encryption Method Select either "TKIP" or "CCMP(AES)". • WPA Authent. Method Select either "WPA-PSK" or "WPA802.1X)". If you have selected "WPAPSK", enter the pre-shared key (PSK) of 8- 63 characters in ASCII code. 62
