xStack DGS-3400 Series Layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet Managed Switch No Limit This drop-down menu allows the user to specify that the selected port will have no bandwidth limit. Enabled disables the limit. Rate This field allows the input of the data rate that will be the limit for the selected port. The user may choose a rate between 1 and 156249 units, where each unit is defined a 64Kbit/s. Effective Rx rate Specifies the limitation of the received data rate. Effective rate Tx Specifies the limitation of the transmitted data rate. Click Apply to set the bandwidth control for the selected ports. Results of configured Bandwidth Settings will be displayed in the Port Bandwidth Table. QoS Scheduling Mechanism This drop-down menu allows a selection between a Weight Fair and a Strict mechanism for emptying the priority classes. To view the following window click, QoS > QoS Scheduling Mechanism. Figure 8- 3. QoS Scheduling Mechanism window The Scheduling Mechanism has the following parameters. Parameter Description Strict The highest class of service is the first to process traffic. That is, the highest class of service will finish before other queues empty. Weight fair Use the weighted round-robin (WRR) algorithm to handle packets in an even distribution in priority classes of service. Click Apply to allow changes to take effect. 169
