configDownload 2 any current switch settings. Downloading a configuration file, which was uploaded from a different type of switch, may cause this switch to fail. A switch reboot might be required for some parameter changes to take effect. configDownload operation may take several minutes to complete for large files. Do you want to continue [y/n]: y Password: Activating configDownload: Switch is disabled configDownload complete: All config parameters are downloaded To download the switch configuration data to the current logical switch from an external FTP server (no chassis permissions): switch:admin> configdownload -ftp 192.168.38.245,jdoe,config.txt,password To download all system configuration data for the chassis and all logical switches (requires chassis permissions): switch:admin> configdownload -all -ftp 192.168.38.245,jdoe,config.txt,password To download the switch configurations to a logical switch with FID 8 from an attached USB device (requires chassis permissions): switch:admin> configdownload -fid 8 -USB config.txt To download the switch configurations belonging to a logical switch with FID 4 to a logical switch with FID 8 from an attached USB device (requires chassis permissions): switch:admin> configdownload -fid 8 -sfid 4 -USB config_fid8.txt To download the Virtual Fabric configuration file using FTP: switch:admin> configdownload -vf -p ftp 10.32.248.119,jdoe,/temp/switch-conf_66.txt,mypassword Diagnostics The configuration download may fail for one or more of the following reasons: • The switch has not been disabled. Disabling the switch is not necessary for configuration files containing only certain SNMP or Fabric Watch parameters. You can run configDownload first without disabling the switch, and if there is at least one changed parameter outside of Fabric Watch or SNMP, you are prompted to disable the switch before proceeding. • The host name is not known to the switch. • The host IP address cannot be contacted. • You do not have permission on the host. • You are running a script that prints something at login. • The file does not exist on the host. • The file is not a switch configuration file. • The FTP server is not running on the host. • The configuration file contains errors. • The configuration file's logical switch definitions do not match the definitions on the target switch.
