12 Power indicator codes Each AC power supply unit (PSU) has an illuminated translucent handle and each DC power supply unit (when available) has an LED that serves as an indicator to show whether power is present or a power fault has occurred. Figure 49. AC power supply unit status indicator 1. AC power supply unit status indicator/handle Convention A B C Power indicator pattern Green Flashing green Flashing green and turns off Condition The handle indicator lights green indicating that a valid power source is connected to the power supply unit and that the power supply unit is operational. When updating the firmware of the power supply unit, the power supply unit handle flashes green. When hot-adding a power supply unit (PSU), the power supply unit handle flashes green five times at 4 Hz rate and turns off. This indicates that the power supply unit is mismatched with the other power supply unit (in terms of efficiency, feature set, health status, and supported voltage). Replace the power supply unit that has the flashing indicator with a power supply unit that matches the capacity of the other installed power supply unit. 140
