The problem is... (checklist) Before deciding that there is a serious problem with the printer, check the following items. Symptom Items to be checked Corrective measures No power Power cable connection Check that the power cable is correctly plugged into the power outlet. Power supply to the outlet Supply power to the power outlet. Power switch on/off Turn on the power switch (Refer to Turn the power on/off). The media guide is not heated even when Printer status the heater is turned ON. The media guide is heated during printing. Be sure the media guide is heated by printing the test pattern. Heater front panel Turn on the heater (FRONT, PRINT, or REAR) check that the media guide is heated by printing the test pattern. The printer fails to start or operate correctly ERROR LED and message on the front Refer to: The problem is... An error panel message. Cannot print USB cable connection Connect the USB cable correctly (Refer to Connect to a computer). ERROR LED and message on the front Refer to: The problem is... An error panel message. ERROR LED off The data are not processed immediately DATA LED (flashing?) Print the nozzle adjustment pattern (Refer to Perform printhead position adjustment).
