NOTE Troubleshooting Setting and Removing System Passwords Setting and Removing System Passwords Setting Passwords You can set passwords to provide different levels of protection. Using the Security menu in the Setup program: • The Administrator can access and change all settings in the Setup program. The User can only access and modify certain items in the Main menu. • You can enable the Power-on Password option so that a password is required every time you start the Workstation. You must set an administrative password before you can set a user password. To set up passwords: 1. Start the Workstation and press F2 when prompted to enter the Setup utility. 2. Select the Security menu. 3. Choose Set Administrator Password or Set User Password. When prompted, enter, then re-enter your password. 4. Select the Exit menu, then Exit Saving Changes. Removing Passwords To remove a password: 1. Start the Workstation and press F2 when prompted to enter the Setup utility. 2. Select the Security menu. 3. Select Clear All Passwords. 4. Select the Exit menu, then Exit Saving Changes. 224 Chapter 11
